How will you benefit by being a member of AHTS?
First and foremost, you'll be a member of a Chapter that is focused on the mission area and trail segment you're most interested in. And if such a Chapter does not yet exist, we'll make one for you. A Chapter needs only three members to get started, two of which have formal roles: a Coordinator of Chapter work and a Communicator between the Chapter and the Officers of AHTS.
We supply each Chapter with tools for trail building and maintenance, administrative support and guidance, and finances from our general fund. Chapters are a place to develop new trails, maintain existing trails, and to organize group hikes and social events. Plus, you'll be connected to people that share your passion!
In addition, you'll receive training not just in trail building and maintenance, but also, should your Chapter desire, in hiking and backpacking skills; discounts to select outdoor stores and to our conferences and events.
