Top of the World at Terrapin Hill!
Located in Coosa County, Alabama.
This project, the 1 acre land, the 80' observation tower and the campsite, known as Leonard's Landing, has been made possible through a generous grant from The Conservation Fund to the Alabama Hiking Trail Society specifically for the use of hikers as they pass by on the Pinhoti Trail.
Site includes a cooking shelter, hammock hangs, tentsite, fire rings, and picnic tables.
Directions for Access:
Park at "Kimm's Camp" Trailhead (Google Map to Kimm's Camp) -
Limited Parking near intersection of CR56 and HWY 231- please do not block gate.
Hike southbound on the Pinhoti for 3.5 miles and arrive at Tower. (Follow the Blue Blazes)
This is a moderate+ hike with a couple of water sources (no water at the tower)
Please Leave No Trace, follow posted rules for climbing tower and be safe.
