A Life of Strength and Service

Known to many by the nickname "Trainwreck", he was a man whose presence was as powerful as his heart was generous. Whether lifting spirits or lifting heavy loads, he put strength into everything he did. His dedication as a volunteer left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to work beside him.

He gave his time freely, stepped up when others stepped back, and made every community he touched a better one. His legacy continues in the lives he supported, the people he inspired, and the countless small acts of kindness he never sought recognition for.

Trainwreck was instrumental in building trail on the Pinhoti, especially in the Terrapin Hill section. A wonderful campsite and cooking shelter near the base of Terrapin Hill, is named in his memory.

“I hope you have a Blue Bird day.”

These were the words his wife, Emily, remembers him saying—simple, heartfelt, and full of the warmth he carried with him. They capture his spirit: a wish for joy, peace, and a touch of light even in difficult times.

Forever Remembered

Though he has left this world, his strength, compassion, and humor remain in the hearts of all who knew him. May this page serve as a testament to the love he shared and the life he lived—a reminder that true strength is measured not only in muscle, but in kindness, loyalty, and the way one lifts others up.
